The webinar over five half-days will provide a thorough introduction to the rule of law in the European Union.

The online conference will provide legal practitioners and data protection specialists with an update and necessary guidance on new data protection rules. It will give them an insight into how to combine them with the demands of the contemporary economy. It will offer an opportunity to discuss with key legal experts the issues at stake. Post-GDPR challenges and e-privacy reforms will also be addressed.

The online seminar will address the current European anti-money laundering landscape and focus on the changes that have and are being implemented since the adoption of the fourth, fifth and sixth Anti-Money Laundering Directives and the new Directive on enhancing FIU cooperation and access to financial information. It will also highlight national challenges and actions that have been taken to address them, including the recently adopted proposals and changes in relation to tackling money

The online seminar will provide participants with a detailed insight into the recent case law of the European Court of Human Rights on the right to a fair trial under Article 6 of the European Convention on Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms, with a focus on the most important judgments since 2018. The training will provide the participants with the necessary tools to identify and address human rights violations relating to Article 6 and apply that provision in domestic proceedings.

For its 16th Annual Conference, which will take place in Vienna, on 16 and 17 April 2020, the European Criminal Law Academic Network (ECLAN) has decided to focus on the collection and admissibility of evidence in Europe.

The objective of the Summer School is to provide participants with an extensive knowledge of EU criminal law. The classes are both theoretical and practical. They are conducted by academics, national experts or European officials who deal every day with the European criminal area.
