This series of events addresses various challenges that judges, prosecutors and lawyers in private practice working in the field of EU criminal justice will have to face for the years ahead. Some of these challenges will  remain in the “new normal” well beyond the end of the pandemic.

This hybrid seminar will examine some concrete policy and legal options available to governments and law enforcement agencies to try to address the encryption concern.

The conference will evaluate critically the transformation of EU law in the digital age. Contributions from a multi-disciplinary perspective will address the challenges digitalisation poses on well-established legal principles, on fundamental rights and on the rule of law.
