European Chief Prosecutor: Poland Systematically Refuses Cooperation with EPPO

The European Chief Prosecutor informed the Commission of Poland's systematic refusal to cooperate with the EPPO. Poland has refused to apply the regular, binding EU judicial cooperation instruments as well as to sign a working arrangement with the new EU body for tackling crimes against the EU's financial interests. CCBE Concerned over Defence Rights in EPPO Proceedings

In a statement published on 10 December 2021, the Council of Bars and Law Societies of Europe (CCBE) voiced concerns over the position of the defence and procedural rights during EPPO proceedings. The appointment seems to put an end to a dispute between the EU and Slovenia, which delayed the nomination of the country’s candidates for months.
