At the beginning of October 2022, Evert van Walsum was appointed new Administrative Director of Eurojust. He will succeed the current Administrative Director Nikolaos Panagiotopoulos, who has held the position since 2017. Mr Walsum's term of office will start in early 2023 and run for four years. Until then, he will continue serving as Head of the Investors and Issuers Department at the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA). Appointed by the College, the Administrative Director is responsible for Eurojust's day-to-day administration, staff management, and the implementation of key organisational developments.
