On 5 September 2019, a Counter-Terrorism Register (CTR) was launched (see also eucrim 2/2019). The CTR is managed by Eurojust on a 24-hour basis. In the CTR, key judicial information on proceedings against suspects of all kinds of terrorist offences is centralised, with the aim of establishing links between them and, in this way, helping judicial authorities to more actively coordinate their work and identify the suspects or networks being investigated in specific cases with potential cross-border implications. All Member States can use the CTR and are called upon to register information on suspects and cases via a special template. As the CTR focuses entirely on judicial proceedings and convictions, an overlap with the criminal analysis carried out by Europol is not to be expected.
