On 1 July 2020, a formal Working Arrangement to expand and deepen collaboration between Europol and the Mexican Ministry of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC) was signed. Under the Working Arrangement, a secure system will be introduced to exchange information between the parties so as to link Mexico with law enforcement authorities of the EU Member States, third countries and other organisations associated with Europol. Furthermore, Mexico may deploy a liaison officer to the Europol headquarters.
