Western Balkans Criminal Justice Project Kicked Off

On 15 May 2023, a new project was kicked off to strengthen judicial cooperation in the Western Balkans as well as between the region and the EU in the fight against organised crime and terrorism. Within the framework of the project, a contact group of practitioners from the Western Balkan region will select common cases that would benefit from coordination. To resolve these cases, financial support and expert advice from Eurojust will be given in order to facilitate coordinated parallel investigations/prosecutions and Joint Investigation Teams.

The so-called Western Balkans Criminal Justice Project (WBCJ) is funded by the European Commission and implemented by Eurojust. The project has a duration of four years and a budget of €6 million.
