On 7 November 2019, Europol and the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) signed a formal agreement to enhance their cooperation in the fight against intellectual property crime. The agreement continues the work that was already started in 2016, when the two agencies created a specialised unit within Europol that was funded by the EUIPO. Since then, this Intellectual Property Crime Coordinated Coalition (IPC3) has been coordinating and supporting cross-border operations tackling IP crime across the EU.
