On 10 June 2020, Frontex and FRA signed a Service-Level Agreement to establish a team of about 40 fundamental rights monitors. They shall make sure that all operational activities are in line with the fundamental rights framework, are to monitor all types of operations and contribute to Frontex training activities. They will be integrated with the Fundamental Rights Office of Frontex and overseen by its Fundamental Rights Officer. As a next step, Frontex will publish vacancy notices in order to deploy the monitors.
