At the end of April 2018, the first Joint Investigation Team (JIT) ever established between France and Greece resulted in the arrest of four leaders of the Georgian mafia organisation “Vory V zakone.” The organisation is suspected of having committed thousands of burglaries and retail thefts in France and Greece, causing severe damage amounting to several millions of euros.
