Since October 2020, Eurojust has been hosting the second phase of the EuroMed Justice Programme. This progamme, which started in May 2020 and is funded by the European Commission, aims at enhancing cross-border strategic collaboration in criminal matters and improving capacity building with the EU’s South Partner Countries (SPC), namely Algeria, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Palestine, and Tunisia. The programme was designed following a thorough assessment of the needs, activities, and tools to be delivered to the partnering countries and EU Member States. Hosting the programme is a historic novelty for Eurojust, as this is the first time that the agency will host and implement a programme outside the EU’s borders.
