On 9 November 2023, Eurojust and the Nigerian judicial authorities signed a Working Arrangement, with the aim of enabling structured and closer cooperation in the fight against organised crime groups. Through the agreement, Eurojust can establish a Contact Point in Nigeria. It allows Eurojust and national authorities direct and better access to the Nigerian prosecution services. This will facilitate the execution of judicial cooperation requests. The arrangement also allows for the exchange of strategic information. It entered into force on the day of signature. It is the first agreement that the EU Agency Eurojust signed with a sub-Saharan African country.
