EPPO Cooperation with Latin American Countries
At the end of May 2025, the EPPO and the Ibero-American Association of Public Prosecutors (AIAMP) signed an agreement to enhance their strategic cooperation. The EPPO also signed bilateral agreements with the Public Prosecutor’s Offices of six AIAMP members in Latin America: Argentina, Brazil, Costa Rica, Panama, Paraguay, and Peru.
This increased operational cooperation with partners outside the EPPO zone is intended to combat organised crime groups, particularly by facilitating investigations into organised crime, money laundering, corruption, and the recovery of illicit assets. It is being supported by the EU cooperation programme “EL PACCTO 2.0”, which aims to strengthen the partnership between the EU and Latin American countries in the fields of justice and security in order to combat transnational organized crime.
