On 18 September 2020, the European Court of Human Rights launched a series of four new factsheets providing an overview of its case law on the following topics:

• Independence of the justice system;
• Restrictions on the right to liberty and security for reasons other than those prescribed by the ECHR;
• The right to respect for family life of prisoners in remote penal facilities;
• The use of force in the policing of demonstrations.

The ECtHR’s factsheets have been translated into several languages and aim to increase awareness of the Court’s judgments in order to improve the domestic implementation of the ECHR.
