Court Re-Elects President Raimondi

On 17 September 2018, Guido Raimondi was re-elected as President of the ECtHR. His term ends on 4 May 2019, the same time as his mandate as a judge.

Before his career at the ECtHR Raimondi worked in the Legal Department of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and was Co-Agent of the Italian government before the ECtHR (1989 to 1997). Afterwards, he served at the Court of Cassation first in the Advocate General’s office and then as judge. Before his appointment as judge in Strasbourg, Raimondi worked at the International Labour Organization (2003-2010). President Raimondi has been a judge at the Court since 2010 and became its President on 1st November 2015.
