On 17 March 2021, Frontex and Albania signed a renewed working agreement to strengthen their cooperation in border management to better fight cross-border crime and return. Building up on the Status Agreement that was agreed between the EU and Albania in 2019 and that allowed for the deployment of Frontex officers to Albania, the renewed agreement also includes the exchange of information and best practices in the area of border management and return.
