On 26 March 2018, Frontex and the Republic of Moldova signed a new cooperation plan for the period 2018 to 2020. Under this plan, the exchange of information on migratory flows, the use of relevant data to combat cross-border crime, and initiatives to provide technical assistance to the Moldovan authorities shall be improved. Furthermore, Frontex will set up training programmes for Moldovan border guards on subjects such as return operations, the detection of false documents, and the fight against human trafficking.
