On 15 November 2018, Europol and the Global Lottery Monitoring System (GLMS) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance the fight against sports competition manipulations and related organised crime. Under the MoU, the parties will be able to share information and jointly run activities and implement relevant projects.

GLMS is a mutualized monitoring system for sports betting by the state lotteries of 29 countries from around the globe. It aims to detect and analyse suspicious betting activities that could bring into question the integrity of a sports competition.
