Agreement with Armenia Signed
On 16 September 2021, Europol and Armenia signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the aim of enhancing their cooperation in the fight against cross-border crime. Under the agreement, both parties may exchange general strategic intelligence, strategic and technical information, and operational information ‒ with the exception of personal data. Furthermore, Armenia may second a Liaison Officer to Europol. Key areas covered by the agreement include migrant smuggling, cybercrime, drug trafficking, asset recovery, money laundering, organised property crime, and trafficking in human beings.
