Judicial Scrutiny of EIO Proceedings

Conference of the MEIOR Project

Published 9 months, 1 week ago

This is the final conference of the EU-funded project MEIOR (Mould EIO Review).

In this project, scholars from the KU Leuven (Leuven Institute of Criminology (LINC)), together with colleagues from the Uniwersytet Gdański, Università degli Studi di Padova, Universidad Complutense de Madrid and Uppsala Universitet have investigated the concepts and structures of judicial scrutiny in the context of the European Investigation Order (EIO) to identify common minimum denominators and to address existing and potential future problems. The project combined systematic research on the law and practice of judicial scrutiny of investigative measures in EIO proceedings at both national and European level with the production of practice-oriented training materials and tools that offer a comparative view on the coordinates of the relevant forms of such scrutiny.

The Conference will examine structures of judicial review in EIO proceedings. It offers a platform for the partners of the MEIOR Project to present their findings as well as to engage with other scholars and stakeholders in a broader discussion on the need for, function and type of judicial scrutiny in cross-border investigations.

Registration is possible until 20 March under: https://www.eventbrite.de/e/meior-conference-judicial-scrutiny-in-eio-proceedings-tickets-798283777267?aff=oddtdtcreator
